‘Verboten’ means forbidden in German, and as a young European artist travelling to northern Western Australia to hear about indigenous cultures and their stories, she realised her interpretations of their cultural stories were not hers to tell.
This is one of the last in a series of works that interpreted the stories of the indigenous group in the Broome area, the Yawuru peoples.
